Terms Of Business
The following terms should be read and understood by the client before agreeing to employ the services of tekkie.co.uk.
- Definitions:
- The Client : The company or person/s requesting the services of tekkie.co.uk
- tekkie.co.uk : Company owner, Web designer, employees
- General Requirements:
- tekkie.co.uk will not carry out any work until an agreement has been reached via phone, email, fax, or in person that states that the client is happy to begin. Once this has been done it will be deemed a written or verbal contract between tekkie.co.uk and the client.
- The website:
- tekkie.co.uk will endeavour to deliver all work on time and to the standard promised on our website. Due to the nature of the work delivery times are estimates.
- The website graphics and programming code remains the property of tekkie.co.uk until all outstanding payments are paid in full.
- The client is responsible for supplying all content for the website (unless otherwise agreed) within 3 days of the commencment of the work, tekkie will take no responsibilty for the late delivery of a any work where the client has failed to deliver content within this timeframe.
- tekkie.co.uk will take no responsibilty for any copyright infringements for content (textual or graphical) supplied by the client.
- Any further work further to that agreed with the client on the initial consultation will be charged at an hourly rate of £25 per hour, unless a maintenance package has been previously agreed, in which case there will be no charge other than than what was agreed in the maintenance package.
- tekkie.co.uk will not be responsible or liable for any losses or costs incured due to the failure to meet deadlines.
- Once work has been completed and delivered to the satisfaction of the client, tekkie.co.uk has no obligation to update, maintain (unless otherwise agreed), troubleshoot or fix the website. Any work of this nature outside of the intitial agreement further to the agreed works will be charged at our current rate of £25 per hour.
- Hosting:
- If you are using our hosting included in the packages it is for 1 year only, once this year is up the client will be invoiced for the next year failure to pay this invoice before the required date could result in the website being removed from the server. Hosting costs are dependant on bandwidth required, and client will be advised on the following years cost in the initial consultation and before any work is completed. There is a fair use policy with all hosting plans. The client is under no obligation to renew their hosting with tekkie.co.uk, and full assistance will be given if and when the client decides to use an alternative hosting service.
- tekkie.co.uk will not be held responsible for any loss of earnings or costs incured due to server downtime resulting in the site being unavailable for any period of time Though we will make every effort to insure that we only use reputable hosting services, ultimately it is out of our control.
- Hosting accounts are prohibited from hosting illegal content of any kind including filesharing and illegal adult content, hosting can also not be used for storing files, data or as a repository for other websites, or to give away web space under another domain or subdomain.
- We reserve the right to charge for any exessive bandwidth used because of failure to comply with the above, and to remove any content that does not comply with the above.
- Support:
- We will provide basic support to get you up and running such as setting up email accounts and using the server control panel (if website is self maintained). We may charge for support if we feel the time taken is beyond that of our goodwill, if you have decided you will update and maintain the website yourself it is your responsibility to learn the tools required to do this.
- We provide hosting as a re-seller of the hosting company, so all communication regarding technical support for hosting should be made through tekkie.co.uk using our contact form, we will then do our best to resolve any issues you may be experiencing with your hosting as soon as is humanly possible
- Content management:
- If the client has opted to manage the content themselves using the content management interface, it is the sole responsibility of the client to make backups of any files or content they might upload or overwrite. tekkie.co.uk has no responsibility to provide replacements of lost or overwritten files.
- Payments:
- A non refundable deposit of 20% (50% for work of less than £300) of estimated costs must be paid before any work commences.
- Once work has been completed to the specifications agreed with the client, the remaining balance will be paid with 14 days, failure to do this will be a breach of this agreement and could result in legal proceedings. If the client decides they no longer require the website the client is still obliged to pay for the work that has been completed.
- Only when the full payment has been recieved will the website be placed on the destintion server, the client will however be able to check the site on our testing server before payment is requested.
- Privacy:
- We do not share, sell or divulge any of our clients details with any third party agents, we will only ever email or contact you regarding work related matters.
- tekkie.co.uk does not use cookies to track or store details about our clients.
